The MITSUBISHI 10565742 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for high-performance, high-precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 0.4606 inches (11.70 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 3.7402 inches (95.00 mm) and a flute length of 1.8898 inches (48.00 mm). The TiAlN coating extends tool life by reducing heat and wear at the cutting edge. The 180-degree drill point with X-Thinning geometry reduces thrust force and improves centering accuracy. Part of the MFE Series, this bit is suited for licensed machinists and precision drilling professionals working in production or maintenance environments.
This drill bit is built for use in blind hole, cross hole, and inclined hole exit applications. Its right-hand helical flute and right-hand cutting direction support standard CNC and manual drilling setups. The parallel web configuration and X-Thinned web reduce walking on entry surfaces. Primary workpiece material is steel, with broad secondary material compatibility covering stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, tempered steel, hardened steel, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, brass, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. The 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.9213 inches (23.40 mm) define the operational envelope.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses with cylindrical shank tool holders accepting a 0.4724-inch (12.00 mm) shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, tempered steel, hardened steel, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, brass, aluminum, and aluminum alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, and N.
Installation is performed by machinists using a collet, drill chuck, or shrink-fit holder compatible with the 0.4724-inch cylindrical shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Verify runout and concentricity before drilling, especially for cross hole and inclined exit applications where bit deflection risk is elevated. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material.
