The MITEK 50ea1406g08l6f1 is a 90-degree ceiling radiation damper (CRD) boot from the Series 50 product line. It measures 6 inches by 14 inches by 8 inches with a 1-inch flange and is designed to limit the spread of heat through floor/ceiling and roof/ceiling assemblies during a fire event. The unit features a 22-gauge CRD frame and blades paired with a 28-gauge boot. A standard fusible link rated at 165 degrees F is included, with an optional 212 degrees F fusible link available. Licensed HVAC contractors and fire protection specialists install this damper as part of code-compliant duct system penetrations in rated assemblies.
This damper boot is intended for use in UL 263 wood truss floor/ceiling and roof/ceiling assemblies with a 1-hour fire rating. The 90-degree (L-type) configuration suits installations where the duct transitions from a vertical to a horizontal run at a ceiling penetration. It is available in flanged and non-flanged configurations and spans a broad range of sizes from 4 inches by 6 inches by 4 inches up to 14 inches by 14 inches by 10 inches, making it adaptable to varied duct layouts in both residential and light commercial construction.
Approved for use in the following UL floor/ceiling assemblies: L-587, L-528, L-558, L-562, L-563, L-574, and L-585. Approved for use in the following UL roof/ceiling assemblies: P-556, P-533, P-544, P-545, P-547, and P-580. Listings marked with an asterisk (L-587 and P-556) are ATI Exclusive Listings. Incorporates a UL 555C evaluated ceiling damper.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC or fire protection contractor in accordance with local building codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) where applicable. Shut down the air handling system and confirm zero airflow before beginning installation. The damper must be installed in strict accordance with the UL assembly listing to maintain the rated fire resistance of the floor/ceiling or roof/ceiling assembly. Do not obstruct the fusible link mechanism or restrict blade movement during or after installation.
