The MITEE-BITE 10510 is a symmetrical machinable hex clamp designed for secure workholding in machining and fixturing applications. Built from mild steel, this clamp accepts a 5/8-11 stud thread and delivers up to 6,000 pounds of holding force when torqued to 100 foot-pounds. The hex body measures 3/8 inch across with a hex height of 35/64 inch (0.5469 inches) and a thread length of 1.125 inches. Each clamp has an overall height of 1.675 inches and includes 0.35 inches of machinable stock, allowing machinists to profile the clamp face to match a workpiece contour. This package contains 4 clamps.
These hex clamps are used in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and custom fixture plates where low-profile, high-force workholding is required. The symmetrical hex geometry allows the clamp to be indexed in multiple orientations, giving setup technicians flexibility when locating odd-shaped or contoured parts. The machinable stock allowance makes this clamp well suited for precision shops that need a custom clamping face without fabricating a clamp from scratch. Typical installers include machinist setup technicians and fixture designers working in aerospace, mold-and-die, and general precision machining environments.
Designed for use with standard 5/8-11 fixture studs on T-slot tables, tombstones, and custom fixture plates commonly found in CNC and manual milling setups.
Installation is performed by machinist technicians familiar with workholding fixtures. Thread the 5/8-11 stud into the fixture plate before seating the clamp and apply torque with a calibrated torque wrench to the rated value specified for the stud assembly. If the machinable face is to be profiled, machine the clamp before final installation to preserve dimensional accuracy of the finished fixture. Do not exceed the rated torque, as overloading the stud thread can reduce clamping force repeatability.
