The Minwax 71008 is an oil-based interior wood stain in the Early American color tone, formulated to penetrate and color bare wood in a single application. Sold in a gallon container, it is used by finish carpenters, cabinetmakers, and flooring professionals to achieve consistent, even color on raw or stripped wood surfaces. The stain enhances natural wood grain while providing a base suitable for top-coating with a compatible clear finish. Note that this product may be subject to VOC restrictions in certain jurisdictions and should be verified against applicable local regulations before purchase and use.
This product is suited for interior residential and light commercial applications including hardwood floors, furniture, cabinetry, doors, trim, and paneling. The Early American tone produces a warm, medium-brown color characteristic of traditional American interior woodwork. It is intended for use on bare, sanded wood and is typically applied with a brush, foam applicator, or clean cloth before wiping and allowing to dry.
Designed for use on interior bare wood surfaces including hardwood, softwood, and wood composites typical of residential and light commercial finish carpentry applications.
Application is performed by finish carpenters, painters, or flooring professionals working in interior environments. Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and sanded to the appropriate grit before application. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow all applicable safety data sheet guidelines for solvent-based coatings. Do not apply over previously sealed or finished surfaces without stripping to bare wood first.
