The MILWAUKEE TOOL 48-20-9111 is a carbide tipped hammer drill bit engineered for percussion drilling into masonry surfaces. Built on a high speed steel body with a carbide cutting tip, this bit handles the repeated impact cycles of rotary hammer and hammer drill operation without premature edge failure. The 3-flat shank design seats securely in standard SDS-compatible and keyed chucks that accept 3-flat geometry, preventing slippage under load. With a 4-inch flute length and 6-inch overall length, it reaches adequate depth for common masonry anchoring and fastener prep tasks. This bit is sold as a single unit.
This bit is designed for trade and contractor use in applications involving block, brick, and concrete. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors use bits of this type when setting anchors, running conduit penetrations, or installing mechanical supports through masonry walls and concrete slabs. The 1/4-inch diameter is a common size for drop-in anchors, toggle anchors, and small-diameter through-penetrations in residential and light commercial construction.
Designed for use in rotary hammer drills and hammer drills equipped with a chuck that accepts a 3-flat, 1/4-inch shank bit. Primary workpiece materials include block, brick, and concrete.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with hammer drill operation and applicable site safety requirements. Confirm the chuck is fully secured around the 3-flat shank before applying power. Wear appropriate eye protection and dust control measures when drilling into masonry, as required by OSHA and local jobsite standards. Do not use this bit in a standard rotary-only drill without percussion function, as carbide masonry bits require impact action to cut effectively and may bind or overheat without it.
