The MILWAUKEE TOOL 48-13-8250 is a high speed steel bell hanger drill bit built for electricians, low-voltage installers, and AV or alarm technicians who need to fish wire through walls, floors, and framing. The bit measures 1/2 inch in diameter and 54 inches in overall length, giving it the reach needed to navigate through deep cavities without extensions. A bright finish over the high speed steel construction keeps the surface clean and reduces friction during drilling. The round shank with three flats provides a secure grip in standard drill chucks and prevents slipping under load.
This bit is used in residential and light commercial construction and retrofit work where long-reach boring is required for cable or conduit routing. Typical applications include drilling through wall plates, floor joists, and stud bays for low-voltage wiring runs such as alarm cable, coaxial, structured wiring, or doorbell wire. The integrated pull-through wire-fishing hole at the tip allows the installer to attach wire directly to the bit and draw it back through the bored hole in a single pass, eliminating the need for a separate fish tape on straightforward runs.
Designed as a standard bell hanger drill bit compatible with 3-jaw drill chucks that accept a 1/2 inch round shank. Suitable for use with corded or cordless drills capable of accepting this shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified low-voltage technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for the wiring type being routed. Confirm the drilling path is clear of existing wiring, plumbing, and structural members before boring. Secure the workpiece and maintain a firm grip on the drill, as the length of this bit can create significant torque deflection at full extension. Power down all circuits in the work area before drilling near existing electrical infrastructure.
