The MILWAUKEE TOOL 2268-20NST is an infrared thermometer designed for non-contact surface temperature measurement across a wide range of service applications. It covers a measurement range of -22 to 1022 degrees F (-18 to 550 degrees C) with a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio, allowing the technician to measure from a safe distance with reasonable accuracy in tight spaces. The unit delivers a stated accuracy of plus or minus 1.8 percent and features laser sighting to confirm targeting. An LCD display provides immediate readout. The overmolded grip and fully bumpered nose are built for use in field conditions. A 9V alkaline battery is included, and the unit arrives with NIST certification documentation.
This thermometer is suited for HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and refrigeration technicians who need fast, non-contact temperature readings during diagnostics, commissioning, and preventive maintenance. Common applications include checking supply and return air temperatures, identifying hot spots in electrical panels, verifying pipe surface temperatures, and spotting heat anomalies in mechanical systems. The user-configurable emissivity setting, with a maximum of 0.95, allows for more accurate readings across different surface types. This model is the non-stock variant of the 2268-20 infrared thermometer platform.
Designed as an OEM-equivalent non-contact infrared thermometer on the MILWAUKEE TOOL 2268-20 platform. Operates as a standalone diagnostic instrument compatible with any application requiring non-contact surface temperature measurement within its stated range.
No installation is required. Insert the included 9V alkaline battery before first use and review the enclosed manual for emissivity configuration. When measuring surface temperatures in energized electrical panels or near live equipment, follow applicable NFPA 70E arc flash and shock hazard protocols. Avoid pointing the laser at reflective surfaces or eyes.
