The MILWAUKEE 48-89-2215 is a titanium-coated jobber length drill bit built for extended service life in demanding jobsite conditions. The titanium coating reduces heat build-up and keeps the cutting edge sharp longer, delivering up to three times the life of standard uncoated bits. A thicker web core adds structural strength and resists side-load breakage. The 135-degree split point tip starts on contact without a center punch, preventing walking and producing accurate, clean holes. Licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and general trade contractors use this bit for drilling through wood, metal, and PVC with a standard portable drill.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial trade work where repetitive drilling through multiple materials is required. The parabolic flute geometry clears chips quickly, reducing heat and clogging. The 3-flat shank seats firmly in drill chucks to prevent slipping under load. The reduced shank diameter allows use in 3/8-inch chucks, making it compatible with a wide range of standard and compact cordless drills. It is effective on flat and curved surfaces, including pipe and conduit, without requiring a pilot hole.
Designed for use with standard portable drills equipped with 3/8-inch or larger keyed or keyless chucks. Suitable for drilling wood, metal, and PVC in residential and light commercial applications.
This bit is installed and operated by trade professionals using standard portable or corded drills. Ensure the drill is powered off and the trigger is locked before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck. Seat the 3-flat shank fully and tighten the chuck before drilling. Allow the bit to cool between extended drilling sequences to preserve the titanium coating and cutting edge.
