The MILWAUKEE 48-89-2210 is a titanium-coated jobber-length drill bit sold in a 2-piece pack, designed for tradespeople and contractors who drill frequently through wood, metal, and PVC. The titanium coating reduces heat buildup and extends cutting life up to three times longer than standard uncoated bits. The thicker Thunderbolt web core resists side-load breakage during aggressive drilling, and the parabolic flute geometry clears chips rapidly to keep the bit running cool. At 6.8 inches in overall length, this bit is sized for standard jobber applications across a wide range of portable drills.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial jobsite work where drilling into steel, wood framing, or plastic conduit and fittings is routine. The 135-degree split point tip starts on contact without a center punch, preventing walking on curved or smooth surfaces. The 3-flat shank seats securely in drill chucks and resists slipping under torque. The reduced shank diameter also allows use in 3/8-inch chucks, making these bits compatible with a broad range of corded and cordless portable drills common on trade jobsites.
Designed for use with standard corded and cordless portable drills; reduced shank diameter is compatible with 3/8-inch and larger chucks. Effective for drilling wood, metal, and PVC.
Insert the 3-flat shank fully into the drill chuck and tighten securely before use. Ensure the drill is set to the appropriate speed for the material being drilled — lower speeds for metal, higher speeds for wood and plastic. Allow the split point to seat before applying full feed pressure, particularly on curved or finished surfaces. Inspect bits regularly for wear and replace when cutting performance degrades to avoid overheating or workpiece damage.
