The MILLER 8175/U is a rope grab designed for use with 5/8 inch diameter rope in personal fall arrest systems. A rope grab is a deceleration device that attaches to a vertical lifeline and travels with the worker, locking onto the rope when a fall occurs to arrest the descent. This device is installed by qualified safety professionals or trained workers operating at height in construction, industrial, and maintenance environments. Weighing 1 pound, it is a compact, manageable component within a compliant fall protection assembly.
The MILLER 8175/U is suited for vertical lifeline applications where a 5/8 inch rope is the designated lifeline. Typical installations include work on towers, scaffolding, ladders, and leading edges where a continuous vertical rope lifeline is anchored overhead and the grab traverses the line as the worker moves. It is intended for use as part of a complete personal fall arrest system, not as a standalone product.
Designed for use with 5/8 inch diameter rope lifelines as part of a personal fall arrest system. Confirm full system compatibility with applicable OSHA and ANSI Z359 standards before use.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined by applicable OSHA fall protection regulations. Ensure the lifeline is properly anchored to a certified anchor point rated for fall arrest loads before attaching the rope grab. Never connect the rope grab to a lifeline that is worn, damaged, or of an incompatible diameter. Follow the manufacturer instructions and all applicable ANSI Z359 and OSHA 1926 Subpart M requirements for complete system assembly.
