The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SS6900-12-12 is a 316 stainless steel O-ring swivel adapter designed to connect a 3/4-inch Male O-Ring Boss (MORB) port to a 3/4-inch Female NPSM swivel fitting. Part of the SS6900 Series, this adapter provides a leak-resistant, rotatable connection that simplifies alignment during installation. The MORB end seats against a machined surface with an O-ring for a positive seal, while the female NPSM swivel end allows the fitting to rotate freely before final tightening. At 1.929 inches in length, it is compact enough for tight plumbing runs in both industrial and commercial fluid systems. Rated to 1000 degrees F, it handles high-temperature service environments where carbon steel or brass fittings would be unsuitable.
This adapter is suited for hydraulic lines, industrial fluid transfer systems, and high-temperature piping applications where corrosion resistance and swivel capability are both required. The 316 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for use with aggressive media, marine environments, chemical processing lines, and food-grade or sanitary-adjacent systems. It is typically installed by pipefitters, millwrights, or hydraulic technicians working on equipment that requires periodic repositioning or service without disturbing the entire piping assembly. The swivel design reduces stress on connected hose or tubing assemblies during system operation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for systems using 3/4-inch Male O-Ring Boss ports mating to 3/4-inch Female NPSM swivel connections in stainless steel piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or hydraulic technician familiar with O-ring boss and NPSM thread standards. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Inspect the O-ring seat on the MORB port for scoring or damage before assembly, and use a compatible O-ring in good condition to ensure a proper seal. Torque the MORB end to the fitting manufacturer's specification for the port size; do not overtighten the swivel end before final line alignment is confirmed.
