The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SS5604-08-08-08 is a male pipe branch tee fitting machined from 316 stainless steel and designed for high-pressure, high-temperature fluid and gas piping systems. It provides a three-port branch connection with two 1/2-inch female NPTF ports and one 1/2-inch male NPTF port. Rated to 4900 psig maximum operating pressure and capable of withstanding operating temperatures up to 1000 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding industrial, hydraulic, and process-piping applications. The 1/2-14 thread form on all three connections ensures a dry-seal pressure-tight fit without relying solely on thread sealant. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This branch tee is suited for use in industrial process lines, hydraulic systems, oil and gas distribution, and high-pressure fluid transfer applications where corrosion resistance and structural integrity are critical. The 316 stainless steel construction provides superior resistance to chloride-bearing environments, acidic media, and elevated operating temperatures compared to standard 304 stainless or carbon steel fittings. It fits into any piping system that uses 1/2-inch NPTF connections and requires a reliable branch takeoff point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for 1/2-inch NPTF piping systems in industrial, hydraulic, and process-piping applications requiring 316 stainless steel construction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or plumber in accordance with applicable codes including ASME B31.1 or B31.3 as required by the system design. Depressurize and isolate the piping system fully before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. NPTF dry-seal threads are designed to seal on the threads themselves, but applying an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape is common practice for additional assurance in many applications. Do not overtighten, as this can crack or deform the fitting body.
