The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SS5601-08-08-08 is a female pipe branch tee fitting engineered for high-pressure fluid and gas distribution systems. Part of the SS5601 Series, it provides a three-port branch connection with two 1/2-inch Male NPTF ports and one 1/2-inch Female NPTF port. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, this fitting is rated to 7,700 psig maximum operating pressure and withstands temperatures up to 1,000 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting in hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, and process piping systems where corrosion resistance and pressure integrity are required.
This branch tee is suited for both commercial and industrial piping installations where a single supply line must branch to two downstream connections or where a return line must be introduced into a main run. The NPTF thread form provides a dry-seal mechanical connection, reducing reliance on thread sealants in many applications. Typical uses include hydraulic manifolds, compressed air distribution, steam headers, and chemical process lines where 316 stainless steel is specified for its resistance to corrosion, chlorides, and elevated temperatures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for 1/2-inch NPTF pipe systems requiring a branch tee in 316 stainless steel. Compatible with any system accepting standard 1/2-14 NPTF threaded fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Shut down system pressure and relieve all residual pressure before removing or installing fittings. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal engagement, but thread sealant or PTFE tape may still be used per system requirements and local code. Avoid over-torquing stainless steel threads to prevent galling - use an appropriate pipe thread lubricant on stainless-to-stainless connections.
