The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SS2706-04-04 is a stainless steel bulkhead adapter designed to connect 1/4-inch Male JIC (7/16-20 thread) to 1/4-inch Male NPTF (1/4-18 thread) fittings across a panel or bulkhead wall. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, it withstands demanding environments including high-pressure hydraulic lines, fuel systems, and corrosive fluid transfer applications. At 2.03 inches in length and rated to 5000 psi maximum operating pressure with a temperature tolerance up to 1000 degrees F, this adapter is built for industrial and high-performance use. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This bulkhead adapter is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial installations where a JIC fluid line must pass through and seal at a panel or enclosure wall. The Male NPTF end provides a pressure-tight, dryseal thread connection without the need for additional sealant in properly mated fittings. The Male JIC 37-degree flare end ensures a leak-free mechanical seal against a matching JIC female seat. Typical applications include hydraulic manifolds, fuel distribution panels, and corrosion-resistant fluid system assemblies where 316 stainless construction is specified for saltwater, chemical, or high-temperature exposure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems requiring a 1/4-inch Male JIC to 1/4-inch Male NPTF bulkhead transition in 316 stainless steel construction. Part of the SS2706 Series - MJIC to Male Pipe Bulkhead line from MIDLAND INDUSTRIES.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, pipefitter, or hydraulic technician following applicable system pressure and fluid compatibility requirements. Depressurize and drain the fluid system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Inspect both thread ends for damage before installation; the NPTF dryseal thread is designed for metal-to-metal sealing, but thread condition must be verified. Torque to the fitting manufacturer and system design specifications - do not overtighten stainless fittings, as galling can occur on stainless-to-stainless thread contacts.
