The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SS2404-04-04 is a male-to-male hydraulic adapter machined from 316 stainless steel. It connects a 1/4-inch Male JIC (7/16-20 thread) fitting to a 1/4-inch Male NPTF (1/4-18 thread) port in a single straight configuration. At 1.421 inches in length and rated to 8,000 psig maximum operating pressure, it is built for demanding fluid-transfer and hydraulic applications where corrosion resistance and pressure integrity are both critical. The NPTF thread form provides a dry-seal connection, reducing reliance on thread sealant. This fitting is sized at 04 hose dash size and conforms to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 dimensional standards.
This adapter is suited for hydraulic plumbing, fuel lines, and high-pressure instrumentation circuits in industrial, mobile, and marine environments. The 316 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for systems exposed to corrosive media, saltwater, or elevated temperatures up to 1,000 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and hydraulic system technicians typically install this fitting when transitioning between JIC flare-style hose ends and NPT-threaded ports on valves, manifolds, pumps, or cylinders.
Designed for use in hydraulic and fluid-transfer systems requiring a 1/4-inch Male JIC to 1/4-inch Male NPTF straight adapter. Part of the Midland Industries SS2404 Series for MJIC to male pipe connections in stainless steel.
Shut down and depressurize the hydraulic or fluid system completely before removing or installing any fittings. The NPTF thread form is designed for dry-seal engagement, but consult system specifications regarding the use of thread sealant or PTFE tape. Use appropriately rated wrenches and avoid over-torquing, which can damage the stainless threads. Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician or licensed tradesperson in accordance with applicable system design standards.
