The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF68-32 is a lead-free brass male adapter designed to transition a 3/16 inch compression connection to a 1/8 inch male pipe thread (MPT) connection. It uses a 3/8-24 compression thread on one end and a 1/8-27 NPT thread on the other, making it suited for low-volume fluid and gas line work where a compression tube meets a threaded port. The lead-free brass construction meets requirements for potable water and regulated plumbing applications. Rated for temperatures from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting handles a wide range of service conditions. Licensed plumbers and refrigeration technicians are the typical installers.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration applications where copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing must connect to a threaded fitting or valve port. Common install scenarios include ice maker supply lines, fuel lines, pneumatic circuits, and instrument tubing connections. The compression side accepts soft copper, aluminum, or compatible plastic tubing without soldering or flaring, allowing for a clean, repeatable connection in tight spaces.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression side. Compatible with standard 1/8 inch female NPT threaded ports on the MPT side. Part of the MAF/USA LF Compression Male Adapter series from MIDLAND INDUSTRIES.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before disassembly or fitting installation. Insert tubing fully into the compression end before tightening the compression nut, and use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on the MPT threads to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not over-tighten the compression nut, as this can deform tubing or crack the fitting body.
