The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF68-1416 is a lead-free brass male adapter fitting designed to transition between a 7/8-inch compression connection and a 1-inch male pipe thread (MPT) connection. Built from lead-free brass stock, this adapter meets modern potable water and plumbing code requirements where lead-free materials are mandated. The compression end uses a 1-1/8-18 thread specification and the MPT end carries a 1-11-1/2 thread specification. Rated for service from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting handles a broad range of fluid system operating temperatures. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter in both residential and light commercial plumbing and fluid distribution systems.
The LF68-1416 is suited for use with copper tubing, aluminum tubing, or plastic tubing on the compression side, making it a versatile transition fitting. Typical applications include connecting a tubing run to a threaded port on a valve, manifold, or equipment stub-out where a compression-to-MPT transition is required. It is cataloged under the MAF/USA LF Compression Male Adapter product line, intended for lead-free compliant installations in potable water and general fluid service applications.
Compatible with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression end. Designed as an OEM-style lead-free brass compression male adapter for residential and light commercial plumbing systems requiring a 7/8-inch compression to 1-inch MPT transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disassembly or fitting installation. Ensure the tubing end is cut cleanly and deburred before seating it into the compression fitting to achieve a leak-free seal. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MPT threads as required by local code before making the threaded connection.
