The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF66-64 is a lead-free brass compression-to-female-iron-pipe (FIP) coupling designed for connecting tubing to threaded pipe in plumbing and fluid-handling systems. The fitting transitions a 3/8 inch compression connection on one end to a 1/4 inch FIP threaded connection on the other, using 9/16-24 and 1/4-18 thread specifications. Constructed from lead-free brass, it meets modern potable water requirements. The compact design suits tight installations where a reliable, leak-resistant transition between compression and threaded connections is needed. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting in both new construction and repair applications.
This coupling is rated for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing across a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F. It fits residential and light commercial plumbing, refrigeration line sets, and instrument tubing applications where a compression-to-FIP adapter is required. The lead-free brass construction makes it suitable for potable water systems that must comply with current low-lead content regulations. Its small form factor allows installation in confined spaces, including under-sink assemblies, appliance connections, and HVAC control line transitions.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in compression-to-FIP plumbing and fluid-handling connections. Part of the MAF/USA LF Compression Female Adapter series from MIDLAND INDUSTRIES.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before disassembly or fitting installation. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then snug with a wrench - avoid over-tightening, which can crack plastic tubing or distort ferrules. Verify local plumbing codes (IPC) for approved fitting materials and lead-free requirements before installation in potable water service.
