The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF66-62 is a lead-free brass compression coupling designed to connect compression-style tubing lines to female iron pipe (FIP) threaded ports. It features a 3/8 inch compression inlet and a 1/8 inch FIP outlet, with thread dimensions of 9/16-24 on the compression side and 1/8-27 NPT on the FIP side. The lead-free brass construction meets modern potable-water plumbing requirements. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working on low-pressure fluid or gas distribution systems where a transition from tubing to a threaded female port is required.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing. Common use cases include instrument lines, appliance supply connections, and low-pressure distribution systems where a compact adapter fitting is needed to terminate tubing into a threaded female port. The wide operating temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F makes it appropriate for both refrigeration-adjacent and hot-fluid plumbing contexts.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in compression fitting applications requiring a 3/8 inch compression to 1/8 inch FIP female adapter connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before installing or replacing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then snug with a wrench - avoid over-tightening, which can crack ferrules or distort tubing. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and deburred before seating into the compression end.
