The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF66-22 is a lead-free brass compression-to-female-iron-pipe (FIP) coupling designed to connect compression tubing lines to female threaded ports. It features a 5/16-24 compression thread on one end and a 1/8-27 FIP thread on the other, bridging compression and threaded plumbing connections in a single compact fitting. The lead-free brass construction meets drinking-water-safe material standards, making it suitable for potable water and refrigerant plumbing applications. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working on low-pressure fluid or gas distribution lines.
This coupling is rated for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC systems. It handles a temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F, covering typical service conditions in both hot and cold water lines as well as refrigerant and instrument tubing applications. The compression end creates a secure, tool-assisted seal on the tubing OD without soldering, while the FIP end threads directly onto a male-threaded port or valve body.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in compression-to-FIP plumbing and HVAC applications. The 1/8 in compression by 1/8 in FIP configuration suits instrumentation, refrigerant, and potable water line connections where these two fitting types meet.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before disassembling or installing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the FIP thread first, then use a wrench to bring it to a snug, leak-free seat; do not overtighten the compression nut, as this can deform plastic or soft tubing inserts. Inspect the tubing end for burrs or out-of-round conditions before seating the compression ferrule.
