The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF62-10 is a lead-free brass compression union designed to join two runs of tubing with a secure, leak-resistant mechanical connection. Both ends accept 5/8 inch compression fittings, making this a symmetric union suited for inline splicing or repair work on fluid and gas lines. The fitting is manufactured from lead-free brass, meeting lead-free compliance requirements for potable water applications. Rated for a temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F, it handles the thermal demands of residential and light commercial plumbing and refrigeration line applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This compression union is intended for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems. It is well suited to residential and light commercial installations where a solderless, tool-assisted mechanical joint is preferred or required. The 13/16-18 thread specification is standard for this compression union size, allowing straightforward assembly with compatible nuts and ferrules. Typical applications include branch repairs, service extensions, and inline connections on potable water lines, refrigerant distribution lines, and similar low-to-moderate pressure tubing runs.
Designed as an OEM-style compression union compatible with 5/8 inch copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembly or fitting installation. Use an appropriately sized compression sleeve and nut; do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can crack or deform the ferrule if excessive force is applied. Inspect tubing ends for squareness and burrs before assembly to ensure a proper seal.
