The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF29F-88 is a lead-free brass rigid adapter designed to connect a 1/2 inch hose barb end to a 1/2 inch female pipe thread (FPT) fitting. Built from lead-free brass, it meets drinking water compliance standards common in plumbing and fluid transfer applications. The fitting measures 1.76 inches in length with a 0.93 inch hex for wrench engagement. It handles a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and is rated for temperatures from -40 to 160 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and experienced tradespeople install this type of adapter in water supply, irrigation, and general fluid system work.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation lines, and fluid transfer systems where a hose-to-pipe-thread transition is needed. It is designed for use with a hose clamp, similar-type clamp, or a crimped ferrule to secure the hose-side connection. Applications include potable water lines, liquid handling systems, and anywhere a reliable, pressure-rated barb-to-FPT transition is required in a lead-free installation.
Designed for use with hose assemblies secured by a hose clamp, similar-type clamp, or a crimped ferrule on the barb end, threading into any standard 1/2 inch FPT port.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson. Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing any fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or approved pipe compound to the FPT threads before making up the connection. Verify the hose-side clamp or ferrule is properly seated and torqued to the hose manufacturer's recommendation before returning the system to service.
