The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES LF29F-62 is a rigid hose barb adapter designed to connect a 3/8 inch hose to a 1/8 inch female pipe thread (FPT) port. Constructed from lead-free brass, this fitting meets lead-free compliance requirements for potable water and other regulated fluid systems. It measures 1.47 inches in length with a 0.56 inch hex flat for wrench installation. The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and performs across a temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees F. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid system installers use this adapter when transitioning from a barbed hose connection to a threaded female port.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and fluid transfer applications where a secure hose-to-pipe-thread connection is needed. It is compatible with standard hose clamps, similar band-style clamps, or crimped ferrules to retain the hose on the barb. Its lead-free brass construction makes it appropriate for systems subject to lead-free mandates, including potable water lines and fixtures governed by state and federal plumbing codes.
Designed for use with standard hose assemblies secured by hose clamps, similar type clamps, or crimped ferrules in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid transfer applications requiring a 3/8 inch hose barb to 1/8 inch FPT connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IAPMO or IPC standards. Shut off the water supply or system pressure before installation and verify the mating female port threads are clean and undamaged. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the male threads before engaging the FPT connection. Secure the hose to the barb with an appropriate clamp or crimped ferrule rated for the system pressure.
