The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES DD-3030-AA is a Type DD cam and groove spool coupler designed to join two female coupler ends in a single inline connection. Cast from aluminum, this coupler handles up to 150 psi operating pressure and suits fluid transfer applications across a wide temperature range. The casting is rated from -150 to 250 degrees F, while the included NBR gasket is rated from -40 to 212 degrees F. At 1.387 pounds, the unit is lightweight for its 3-inch connection size. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this type of fitting where two female cam and groove couplers need to mate directly without a male adapter in line.
Type DD spool couplers see common use in agricultural irrigation, petroleum transfer, chemical handling, and general industrial hose systems. Both connection ends are 3-inch female coupler style, making this part the correct choice when two female-terminated hose assemblies or tank fittings must connect back to back. The aluminum construction keeps weight down while offering adequate corrosion resistance for many fluid service environments. The NBR gasket provides a reliable seal compatible with oils, fuels, and many water-based fluids within the rated temperature range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3-inch female cam and groove hose assemblies in aluminum cam and groove systems. Compatible with standard Type A, B, C, D, DC, and E cam and groove male adapters of the same 3-inch nominal size where back-to-back female connections are required.
Cam and groove fittings are installed by pipefitters, plumbers, and industrial maintenance technicians familiar with quick-disconnect hose systems. Before servicing or replacing a coupler, depressurize and drain the hose line completely. Inspect the NBR gasket for wear or chemical degradation before placing the fitting into service, and replace the gasket if any cracking or deformation is present. Verify that fluid compatibility with aluminum and NBR is confirmed for the specific media being transferred before installation.
