The Midland Industries CNT-400-SS is a combination king nipple designed to connect a 4-inch hose barb end to a 4-inch male NPT threaded end in a single fitting. Machined from 304 stainless steel, this fitting offers reliable corrosion resistance in demanding fluid-handling applications. The hose barb end secures flexible hose without additional fittings, while the male NPT end threads directly into standard pipe fittings, valves, or manifolds. At 4.1 pounds, the fitting has substantial mass consistent with a full 4-inch stainless construction. It is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians working on liquid transfer, irrigation, and process piping systems.
Combination king nipples at this size are common in commercial and industrial settings where large-diameter flexible hose must transition to threaded pipe. Typical applications include pump discharge lines, tank fill and drain connections, irrigation mainlines, and process fluid transfer systems. The 304 stainless steel construction makes this fitting suitable for use with water, mild chemicals, and other media compatible with 300-series stainless alloys. This fitting is suited for both new installations and replacement work where a hose-to-pipe transition is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for large-diameter hose-to-pipe transitions using standard 4-inch hose barb and 4-inch NPT threaded connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system before removing any existing fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or paste to the male NPT threads before making up the connection. Secure the hose barb end with an appropriately rated clamp or crimp ring rated for the hose size and system pressure.
