The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES CGC-800-A1 is a Type C cam and groove coupler designed for fast, tool-free connections in fluid transfer applications. It features an 8-inch female coupler on one end and an 8-inch hose shank on the other, constructed entirely from aluminum for a lightweight, corrosion-resistant build. The coupler handles a maximum operating pressure of 50 psi and is rated for a casting temperature range of -150 to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of service conditions. An NBR gasket is included, rated for -40 to 212 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, industrial pipefitters, and fluid-handling specialists are the typical installers for fittings of this type.
This coupler is suited for industrial hose assemblies, bulk fluid transfer, agricultural irrigation, chemical handling, and general liquid conveyance where a secure, lever-locking connection is required. The 8-inch size targets high-flow, large-diameter hose lines found in commercial and industrial settings. The hose shank end accepts standard compatible hose and is secured with a clamp or ferrule, while the female coupler end accepts a matching Type C cam and groove adapter for quick connect and disconnect under low-pressure conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style Type C cam and groove fitting compatible with standard cam and groove adapters and hose assemblies following MIL-C-27487 or equivalent dimensional standards at the 8-inch size.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or fluid-handling technicians familiar with cam and groove systems. Depressurize and drain the line completely before connecting or disconnecting the coupler. Verify that the mating adapter is a compatible Type C cam and groove part and that the NBR gasket is seated properly before engaging the cam arms. Secure the hose shank end with an appropriately rated hose clamp or crimp ferrule per the hose manufacturer's guidelines.
