The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES CDC-400-SS1 is a Type DC dust cap designed to protect 4-inch female cam and groove coupling connections from contamination, debris, and damage when a line is disconnected or temporarily out of service. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, it delivers strong corrosion resistance in demanding fluid transfer environments. It is rated to a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi at 70 degrees F, with a casting temperature range of -150 to 500 degrees F and a gasket temperature range of -40 to 212 degrees F. The NBR gasket provides a reliable seal against the coupling face. This fitting is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid handling technicians working on industrial hose and transfer systems.
The CDC-400-SS1 is suited for industrial, agricultural, chemical transfer, and general fluid handling applications where cam and groove fittings are standard. It protects 4-inch female Type C or Type D cam fittings during storage, transport, or system shutdown intervals. Its 316 stainless steel body makes it appropriate for environments where exposure to corrosive media, washdown conditions, or wide temperature swings is expected. The NBR gasket handles compatibility with a range of common petroleum-based and water-based fluids typically found in these settings.
Designed as a standard Type DC dust cap for 4-inch female cam and groove couplings per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 cam and groove standards. Fits female cam couplings in the same 4-inch size class across common industrial hose assemblies.
Depressurize and drain the line fully before removing or installing any cam and groove fitting or dust cap. Inspect the NBR gasket for wear, cracking, or chemical degradation prior to installation and replace if damaged. No tools are required for standard cam and groove engagement, but ensure the cam arms seat fully and the cap is properly oriented before returning the line to service. Follow applicable facility safety procedures and ASME guidelines for fluid transfer system maintenance.
