The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 9660G2 is a lug-style butterfly valve designed for flow control in commercial and industrial piping systems. Built with a ductile iron body and ductile iron disc, this valve delivers durable, corrosion-resistant performance in demanding service environments. The Buna-N elastomer seat provides a reliable, low-leak seal suited for water and general-purpose fluid applications. A gear handle operator gives technicians precise, mechanical actuation with reduced manual effort compared to lever-style valves, making it well-suited for larger pipe applications or higher-pressure service conditions. At 13.64 pounds, the valve offers solid construction without excessive weight for handling during installation.
The 9660G2 is used in commercial HVAC hydronic systems, industrial process piping, and mechanical room installations where a 2-inch nominal lug-style butterfly valve is required. The lug-style body allows the valve to be installed as an end-of-line valve or between flanges, providing flexibility in piping configurations. Gear handle operation is common in applications where torque requirements exceed practical lever operation. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this valve type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation butterfly valve for 2-inch nominal lug-style flange configurations in commercial and industrial piping systems.
Installation of this valve should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes, including ASME and local authority requirements. Isolate and depressurize the piping system fully before removing any existing valve or installing this unit. Verify flange bolt pattern and gasket compatibility before torquing fasteners. Do not use this valve in fluid services outside the compatibility range of Buna-N elastomers without consulting the manufacturer.
