The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 96204UL is a UL/FM-listed swing check valve designed for fire protection and industrial fluid systems requiring reliable one-directional flow control. The valve features a ductile iron body rated to 300 psi, a bronze seat, rubber seal, and ductile iron disc with stainless steel trim and stainless steel packing. The 4-inch nominal size uses a flanged connection configuration, making it suitable for inline installation in larger piping systems. Licensed plumbers, fire protection contractors, and mechanical contractors typically handle installation of this valve class.
This swing check valve is built for use in fire suppression piping systems, waterworks applications, and industrial fluid handling where UL and FM certification is required. The flanged end connections allow bolted installation into 4-inch pipeline systems. The ductile iron body provides strength and corrosion resistance appropriate for both above-ground and below-ground installations depending on system design. The 300 psi pressure rating accommodates typical fire protection system operating pressures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation swing check valve for 4-inch flanged ductile iron pipeline systems meeting UL and FM listing requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire protection contractor or journeyman plumber in accordance with NFPA 13, local fire codes, and applicable mechanical codes. Isolate and depressurize the piping system completely before removing any existing valve or installing this unit. Verify flange bolt pattern, gasket selection, and torque procedures conform to the applicable piping specification for the system. Confirm flow direction arrow on valve body is oriented correctly in the pipeline before final assembly.
