The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 949112 is a 2-piece, full-port ball valve rated at 2000 psi WOG, built for demanding industrial and commercial plumbing applications. The valve features a carbon steel body with a 316 stainless steel ball and stem, PTFE seat, PTFE packing, and a 304 stainless steel handle, giving it a corrosion-resistant internal assembly well suited to high-pressure service. Connections are female pipe thread (FPT) on both ends at a 3/8-18 thread size, with an inlet-to-outlet length of 2.13 inches and a top-to-inlet center measurement of 2.17 inches. A lever-style handle operator provides quick quarter-turn shutoff. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of valve in pressure-rated gas and liquid service lines.
This valve is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial piping systems where a compact, high-pressure shutoff is required. The 3/8-inch nominal size and FPT x FPT configuration make it a common fit for water, oil, and gas service lines operating within its 2000 psi WOG pressure rating. The full-port design minimizes flow restriction, making it suitable for applications where pressure drop must be kept low. Plumbers and pipefitters install this valve in supply lines, equipment isolation points, and branch connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install 2-piece ball valve for 3/8-inch FPT x FPT carbon steel valve applications rated to 2000 psi WOG in industrial, commercial, and residential piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line fully before removing any existing valve or installing this unit. Apply appropriate thread sealant to male pipe threads per the sealant manufacturer's instructions, and avoid over-tightening to prevent thread damage. Verify pressure rating compatibility with the system before placing the valve into service.
