The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 941169LF is a full-port, lead-free forged brass ball valve rated for 2-1/2 inch nominal sweat connections. It carries a 600 psi WOG (water, oil, gas) pressure rating and a 150 psi WSP steam service rating, making it suitable for a wide range of plumbing and mechanical system applications. The valve features a stainless steel ball, PTFE seat and packing, and a brass stem for durability and corrosion resistance. An operating temperature range of -40 to 365 degrees F accommodates both cold and hot fluid service. A plated steel handle with a lock washer and handle nut trim allows for quick quarter-turn shutoff. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve in commercial and residential piping systems.
This valve is designed for use in copper piping systems where sweat solder connections are the standard joining method. Typical applications include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, chilled water systems, and general mechanical piping where a reliable full-port isolation valve is required. The lead-free construction meets drinking water compliance requirements, making it appropriate for potable water service. The valve also supports vacuum service rated to 29.92 inHg, expanding its range to light vacuum applications. Its compact body profile suits tight mechanical room installations and inline service shutoff points.
Designed for use in 2-1/2 inch copper piping systems utilizing sweat solder (sweat x sweat) connections. Suitable for potable water, hydronic, chilled water, and general mechanical piping applications requiring a lead-free isolation valve.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Clean and flux all copper pipe ends before sweating the valve into the line, and allow the valve to cool before operating it. Keep the ball in the open position during soldering to prevent heat damage to the PTFE seat and packing.
