The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 940826 is an aluminum high flow muffler designed for pneumatic exhaust applications. It threads directly onto valve exhausts, cylinder ports, and directional control valve outlets to reduce noise from compressed air discharge. The 3/4-inch MPT connection accepts standard pipe fittings, and the internal 50 mesh stainless steel element filters particulate from the exhaust stream while allowing high-volume airflow. Rated to 300 psi maximum operating pressure, this muffler handles demanding duty cycles in industrial and automation environments. Licensed trades and maintenance technicians install this type of component when commissioning or servicing pneumatic circuits.
This muffler is suited for use in compressed air systems operating between 35 and 160 degrees F. Typical installation locations include solenoid valve exhaust ports, pneumatic cylinder end caps, and manifold exhaust banks in both light industrial and heavy-duty automated production settings. The hole pattern in the body supports panel or bracket mounting when direct pipe thread installation is not preferred, giving installers flexibility in tight pneumatic control enclosures or valve manifold assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation muffler for pneumatic valves and cylinders with 3/4-inch MPT exhaust ports in compressed air systems.
Installation is performed by qualified pneumatic system technicians or industrial maintenance personnel. Depressurize and lock out the compressed air supply before threading the muffler onto any valve or cylinder port. Apply thread sealant appropriate for compressed air service and tighten to hand-tight plus a firm quarter to half turn - avoid over-torquing aluminum threads. Inspect the stainless steel element periodically and replace the muffler if the element is clogged or damaged, as restricted exhaust flow affects actuator cycle times.
