The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 899054 is a Schedule 80 PVC ball valve designed for full-bore shutoff and flow control in pressure piping systems. Built with a gray PVC body and EPDM seals, it handles working pressures up to 150 psi and is rated at a test pressure of 225 psi at 73 degrees F. The socket x socket end connections accept solvent-welded PVC pipe at a 1-1/2 inch nominal size. This valve is a standard install for licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on water distribution, chemical handling, and irrigation systems where metal valves are not appropriate.
The 899054 fits into Schedule 80 PVC piping systems in both residential and light commercial applications. Its socket-style connections are suited for solvent-cement joining in new construction and retrofit work. Common install scenarios include pool and spa plumbing, irrigation mainlines, chemical feed lines, and industrial process piping where corrosion resistance is a priority. The compact body dimensions of 5.15 inches in length and 4.35 inches in width allow it to fit into tight equipment rooms and valve manifolds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ball valve for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal socket connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the line fully before removing any existing valve. Use only PVC-rated solvent cement and primer on socket connections, and allow full cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not exceed the rated working pressure of 150 psi.
