The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 77508 is a copper reducing tee fitting designed for sweat (solder) connections in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC hydronic systems. It joins two 1-1/4 inch runs to a reduced 3/4 inch branch outlet, allowing flow distribution or branch takeoffs within a copper tube system. Rated to 500 psi and suitable for service temperatures from 32 degrees F to 200 degrees F, this fitting handles the demands of domestic water supply, hydronic heating loops, and similar closed-loop systems. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting using standard soldering practices.
The 77508 is used in residential and light commercial applications where a main copper line requires a reduced branch connection. Typical installations include domestic hot and cold water distribution, radiant heating supply and return piping, and hydronic baseboard loop takeoffs. Its three-port sweat configuration makes it a straightforward drop-in for new construction and retrofit copper piping work. The fitting is suited for any application where a 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch by 3/4 inch reducing tee configuration is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for copper sweat piping systems using 1-1/4 inch and 3/4 inch nominal copper tube.
Installation requires a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in most jurisdictions. Shut off system water supply and relieve pressure before cutting into an existing line. Clean all tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth or a fitting brush, apply flux, and solder with lead-free solder per applicable plumbing codes including IPC and local amendments. Allow joints to cool fully before restoring pressure and inspect for leaks at operating pressure.
