The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 77391 is a copper flush bushing designed to reduce pipe connections from a 1-1/2 inch fitting end to a 1-1/4 inch copper sweat (C) end. This fitting is used in copper sweat piping systems to transition between two different pipe sizes without adding significant length to the assembly. The flush bushing profile keeps the connection compact, which is useful in tight spaces. At 0.22 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-piece fitting suited for plumbing rough-in and mechanical piping work performed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where copper sweat connections are standard. It is well suited for supply line piping, hydronic heating distribution, and general mechanical plumbing applications. The sweat connection end requires soldering with appropriate flux and solder per local plumbing codes. It is commonly installed during new construction rough-in or during service work when pipe diameter changes are needed at a fitting junction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation copper sweat flush bushing for residential and commercial plumbing systems using standard copper pipe and sweat fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing codes. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before soldering, and use lead-free solder where required by code. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring water pressure and inspecting for leaks.
