The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 77305 is a wrot copper male pipe adapter designed to transition a 3/8-inch sweat (C) connection to a 1/4-inch male pipe thread (MPT). Wrot copper construction provides reliable performance in plumbing and HVAC applications where a soldered-to-threaded transition is required. The fitting is rated to 500 psi and handles temperatures from 32 degrees F to 200 degrees F. At 0.08 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight component suited for tight spaces. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians use this adapter to connect copper tubing runs to threaded ports on valves, gauges, or equipment.
This adapter is commonly installed in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC systems wherever a copper sweat line must terminate at a threaded male fitting. Typical applications include connecting refrigerant or water lines to threaded valve bodies, manifolds, or equipment ports. The 3/8-inch sweat inlet accepts standard copper tubing, and the 1/4-inch MPT outlet threads directly into a female pipe-threaded (FPT) port.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for copper sweat plumbing and HVAC systems requiring a 3/8-inch C to 1/4-inch MPT transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the IPC or IFGC as relevant. Shut off and depressurize the system before soldering or threading any connections. Clean and flux the copper tube end before sweating the fitting; allow the joint to cool fully before pressurizing. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MPT threads before making the threaded connection.
