The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 77264 is a copper reducer coupling with stop designed for sweat (solder) connections in plumbing and mechanical piping systems. It transitions from a 3/4-inch connection on one end to a 1/4-inch connection on the other, with an internal stop to ensure consistent insertion depth and leak-free joints. Rated to 500 psi and suitable for operating temperatures from 32 to 200 degrees F, this fitting handles both supply water and other compatible fluid applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a sweat-joint pipe reduction is required. Typical applications include copper supply lines, refrigeration-adjacent piping, HVAC condensate and tubing work, and anywhere a 3/4-inch to 1/4-inch copper-to-copper transition is needed. The built-in stop seats the pipe end at the correct depth before soldering, reducing the chance of improper joint formation during installation.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat-fit reducer coupling for copper piping systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 1/4-inch transition with a solder-joint connection on both ends.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line and drain water from the pipe before cutting and fitting. Clean pipe ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth, apply flux, and solder using appropriate lead-free solder per code. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring pressure and checking for leaks.
