The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 77207 is a wrot copper solder joint coupling with a rolled-up tube stop, designed for sweat-connect plumbing installations. The integrated tube stop positions the pipe at a consistent depth before soldering, helping ensure a full, even solder joint every time. Rated to 500 psi and suited for operating temperatures from 32 degrees F to 200 degrees F, this coupling handles the demands of standard residential and light commercial potable water and hydronic piping systems. It connects 1-inch copper tubing on both ends using Type C (sweat) connections. Plumbers and pipefitters working copper sweat systems are the primary installers.
This coupling is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where copper sweat piping is the specified system. Typical install scenarios include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and general copper tube repair or extension work. The 1-inch by 1-inch sizing fits standard nominal copper tube sizing used throughout residential construction and retrofit service work. The wrot copper construction meets the material requirements for potable water contact in most jurisdictions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch nominal copper tube systems using Type C sweat connections in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic piping.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the water system and allow all pipes to dry completely before soldering. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply flux before heating; do not overheat the fitting as this can damage the tube stop or cause flux failure. Use lead-free solder for any potable water application as required by code.
