The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 746535MH is a straight supply stop valve designed for use in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. It connects a 1/2-inch cold-expansion PEX supply line to a 3/8-inch compression fitting, making it a direct interface point between PEX rough-in and fixture supply tubes. The body is constructed from lead-free brass with a chrome-plated finish, a PTFE seat, and a brass mini handle operator with 1/4-turn actuation. The lead-free construction satisfies current Safe Drinking Water Act compliance requirements. Licensed plumbers install this valve during fixture rough-in or fixture replacement on potable water systems.
This supply stop is suited for residential sink, lavatory, and toilet installations where cold-expansion PEX tubing terminates at the fixture shutoff point. The 1/2-inch cold-expansion PEX inlet is compatible with standard expansion-style PEX fittings, while the 3/8-inch compression outlet accepts standard fixture supply tubes. The mini handle profile makes it a practical fit in tight cabinet and vanity spaces. It is individually boxed and carries a minimum order quantity of one unit, appropriate for single-fixture service calls or new construction installs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation supply stop for residential plumbing systems using cold-expansion PEX supply lines terminating at 3/8-inch compression fixture connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the main water supply and relieve line pressure before removing any existing valve or making connections. Cold-expansion PEX connections require the appropriate expansion tool and ring for the fitting size - do not substitute clamp or crimp-style fittings without confirming compatibility. Hand-tighten compression fittings first, then snug with a wrench; do not overtighten, as this can distort the compression seat.
