The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 746435 is a 90-degree angle supply stop designed for connecting cold-expansion PEX supply lines to 3/8-inch compression fittings at fixture shutoff points. The body is constructed from lead-free brass with a chrome-plated finish and a PTFE seat for reliable shutoff. The oval handle operator provides a 1/4-turn open-to-close action, making valve operation straightforward during service calls. At 0.21 pounds, this compact fitting measures 2.35 inches in length and 1.8 inches in width, fitting standard under-sink rough-in configurations. Domestic manufacture and lead-free compliance make this stop suitable for potable water applications under current NSF and plumbing code requirements.
This angle stop is used in residential and light commercial plumbing installations where cold-expansion PEX supply lines terminate at lavatory faucets, toilets, or other compression-inlet fixtures. The 1/2-inch cold-expansion PEX inlet pairs with PEX expansion-style tools and rings, while the 3/8-inch compression outlet connects to standard braided supply lines. It is individually boxed and suited for new construction and retrofit applications under sinks and behind toilets where a reliable, code-compliant shutoff valve is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation angle stop for plumbing systems using 1/2-inch cold-expansion PEX supply lines terminating to 3/8-inch compression fixture inlets.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the line before removing any existing stop valve. Cold-expansion PEX connections require the appropriate expansion tool and PEX rings sized for 1/2-inch pipe. Do not overtighten compression nuts, as brass compression fittings require only snug-plus-one-quarter-turn to seat properly without cracking the fitting body.
