The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 73358B5 is a black polyurethane tubing designed for pneumatic and fluid transfer applications in industrial and mechanical systems. It features an 8 mm inner diameter, a 12 mm outer diameter, and a 2 mm wall thickness. The tubing ships in a 500-foot coil and is rated for working pressures up to 150 psi with a 3:1 safety factor. A Shore A hardness of 98 gives it excellent structural rigidity while maintaining flexibility. The 28 mm minimum bend radius and 28 inHg vacuum rating make it a reliable choice for routed plumbing runs where both pressure and suction service are required. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary installers.
This tubing is suited for residential and commercial pneumatic lines, automation equipment, compressor supply lines, and general fluid transfer plumbing. Its resistance to abrasion, chemicals, cold, heat, and kinking makes it appropriate for exposed or semi-exposed routing in mechanical rooms, production floors, and equipment enclosures. It is compatible with push-to-connect fittings, barb-type fittings, and compression fittings, allowing integration into existing pneumatic or fluid systems without special tooling. The rated temperature range of -40 to 150 degrees F covers most indoor and outdoor service environments.
Designed for use with push-to-connect fittings, barb-type fittings, and compression fittings in pneumatic and fluid transfer systems requiring 8 mm ID polyurethane tubing.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or industrial maintenance technicians. Before cutting or connecting tubing, depressurize and lock out the supply line per site safety procedures. Use a clean, square cut to ensure proper seating in push-to-connect and compression fittings. Verify that all fittings are rated for the working pressure and temperature range of the application before placing the system back in service.
