The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 73238B is a Nylon 12 tubing rated for demanding fluid and pneumatic transfer applications in trade and industrial environments. It features a 0.15-inch inner diameter, a 1/4-inch outer diameter, and a 0.05-inch wall thickness. The tubing is supplied in a 100-foot coil and carries an 800 psi working pressure rating. Shore D 70 hardness and Rockwell 78 R hardness indicate a semi-rigid construction that holds its shape under pressure while remaining flexible enough for routing through tight spaces. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial mechanics are the typical installers.
This tubing is suited for pneumatic control lines, low-pressure hydraulic transfer, fuel and oil lines, and general fluid conveyance in both residential and light commercial settings. Its black color indicates UV-stabilized formulation common to outdoor or exposed routing. The -60 to 200 degrees F service temperature range makes it viable in freeze-prone environments as well as engine compartments or mechanical rooms with elevated ambient heat. Resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and heat extends service life in harsh installations.
Designed as a standard 1/4-inch OD Nylon 12 tubing suitable for pneumatic control systems, fluid transfer lines, and instrumentation applications where nylon tubing of this diameter and pressure rating is specified.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or pipefitters depending on the application. Depressurize and isolate any system before cutting or connecting tubing. Use a clean, square cut to ensure proper seating in compression or push-to-connect fittings, and verify that all fittings are rated for the system working pressure. Follow applicable codes including IFGC or IPC where the tubing is used in gas or plumbing systems.
