The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 720404SA is a D.O.T.-rated male swivel branch tee fitting designed for compressed air and pneumatic brake line applications in commercial and fleet vehicle service. Built from brass, this fitting connects two 1/4-inch push-to-connect lines while adding a 1/4-inch male NPTF swivel port, allowing technicians to branch a pneumatic circuit without cutting or splicing existing tubing. It is rated to 200 psi and handles temperatures from -40 to 200 degrees F. The 1/4-18 NPTF thread on the swivel port ensures a pressure-tight seal with standard pipe-thread connections. Plumbers, fleet mechanics, and pneumatic systems technicians install this fitting where a tee branch is needed in a push-to-connect tubing run.
This fitting is suited for D.O.T.-compliant pneumatic systems found in commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment air brake circuits. It is also used in industrial compressed air distribution lines and pneumatic control systems where push-to-connect convenience and a swivel branch port are required in the same fitting body. The push-to-connect ends accept standard 1/4-inch O.D. tubing and allow tool-free tube insertion, while the swivel port provides rotational positioning flexibility during installation in tight spaces.
Designed as a D.O.T.-compliant push-to-connect branch tee for 1/4-inch O.D. tubing pneumatic systems, including air brake and compressed air circuits in commercial vehicles and industrial equipment.
Installation is typically performed by fleet mechanics, heavy equipment technicians, or qualified pneumatic system technicians. Depressurize and drain the air system completely before disconnecting or installing any fittings. Push-to-connect ports require clean, square-cut tubing ends inserted fully until they seat; confirm seating before returning the system to pressure. The NPTF swivel port should be threaded to proper engagement depth using appropriate thread sealant as required by the applicable system standard.
