The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 71060404 is a D.O.T.-rated brass male run tee designed for push-to-connect pneumatic and fluid line assemblies in commercial vehicle, fleet, and industrial service applications. The fitting features three connection points: a 3/8-inch push-to-connect inlet on the run, a 1/4-inch male NPTF branch port, and a 1/4-inch push-to-connect outlet on the run. It is rated to 150 psi and handles temperatures from -40 to 200 degrees F, making it suitable for compressed air brake lines and similar transport-grade systems. Plumbers, fleet mechanics, and HVAC/R technicians working on air-line assemblies install this fitting where a threaded branch port is needed inline with push-to-connect tubing runs.
This fitting is used in D.O.T.-compliant air brake and pneumatic control systems on commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. It is also applicable in industrial compressed air distribution where a push-to-connect run must branch off to a threaded male NPTF port. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability under continuous pressure cycling. The push-to-connect ends allow fast, tool-free tube insertion, reducing assembly time in tight or high-volume installation environments.
Designed as an OEM-style D.O.T. brass push-to-connect fitting for use in air brake lines, pneumatic control systems, and compressed air distribution assemblies requiring a 3/8-inch push-to-connect run with a 1/4-inch male NPTF branch port.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or plumber familiar with D.O.T. air brake system requirements and applicable federal motor carrier safety regulations. Depressurize the air system completely and verify zero line pressure before removing or installing any fitting. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely and inserted to full depth in the push-to-connect collet for a leak-free seal. The male NPTF thread should be made up with an appropriate thread sealant compatible with the system fluid and in accordance with NPTF engagement standards.
