The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 709195-06 is a lead-free brass saddle valve designed for tapping into existing supply lines without cutting or soldering. The valve body is constructed from brass and connects via 3/8-inch nominal compression fittings. It features a 9/16-24 thread size for the needle mechanism. This type of valve is commonly installed by plumbers and HVAC technicians on copper or compatible tubing to create a branch supply point for equipment such as ice makers, humidifiers, or similar low-flow appliances. The lead-free construction meets modern potable water compliance requirements.
The 709195-06 saddle valve is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a quick tap-off is needed on an existing water supply line. Typical installations include humidifier feed lines on forced-air heating systems, refrigerator ice maker supply connections, and similar low-volume water draw points. The compression-style connection simplifies field installation and eliminates the need for open-flame soldering at the tap point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation saddle valve for residential and light commercial water supply lines requiring a 3/8-inch nominal compression branch connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before mounting the saddle clamp. Ensure the tubing surface is clean and free of corrosion before tightening the saddle body. Do not overtighten the compression fitting or needle stem, as this can damage the valve seat or deform the tubing.
