The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 707002-0502 is a rigid hose barb adapter designed to connect a 5/16-inch barbed hose end to a 1/8-inch female pipe thread (FPT) port. Constructed from lead-free brass, this fitting meets lead-free compliance requirements for potable water and fluid-handling applications. It measures 1.47 inches in length with a 0.56-inch hex for wrench engagement. The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and performs across a temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees F. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this type of adapter when transitioning from threaded ports to flexible hose assemblies.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-transfer systems where a threaded female port must accept a barbed hose connection. The barbed end is designed for use with a hose clamp, similar clamping hardware, or a crimped ferrule to secure the hose and maintain a leak-free seal under rated pressure and temperature conditions. Its compact form factor allows installation in tight spaces common to equipment connections and panel piping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems requiring a 5/16-inch hose barb to 1/8-inch FPT transition. Compatible with hose assemblies secured by hose clamps, similar-type clamps, or crimped ferrules.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified HVAC and mechanical technicians. Shut off the fluid supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the FPT threads in accordance with IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Do not overtighten the hex; hand-tight plus a controlled wrench turn is standard practice for brass pipe fittings to avoid cracking the fitting body.
