The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 706115-06 is a countersunk hex plug designed to seal pipe ends and unused outlet ports in pressurized piping systems. Manufactured from lead-free brass with a 3/8-18 male NPTF thread, this plug meets standards where lead-free materials are required in potable water and fluid handling applications. The countersunk head profile allows the plug to sit flush or below the surface of the fitting or port it closes, making it suitable for installations where clearance is limited. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This plug is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping applications where a 3/8 inch MNPTF port needs to be capped. It is intended for use with brass or steel pipe systems and fits standard 3/8-18 NPTF threaded ports. The countersunk hex drive allows installation in recessed or tight locations where a standard hex head would not clear surrounding hardware.
Designed for use with brass or steel pipe systems using 3/8-18 NPTF threaded connections. Suitable as an OEM-style pipe plug for standard 3/8 inch MNPTF ports in plumbing and fluid system applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fitter. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any pipe plug. Use an appropriate hex key or driver sized for the countersunk drive recess. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC before threading the plug into the port.
