The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 700661-06 is a 3/8-inch compression nut made from lead-free brass with a chrome-plated finish. It is used to secure tubing in compression-style plumbing connections, providing a leak-resistant mechanical joint without soldering. The 9/16-24 thread size mates with standard compression fittings and bodies. Rated for temperatures from -40 to 250 degrees F, this nut is suited for both hot and cold water service lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of hardware during new construction, renovation, and repair work on supply lines, shutoff valves, and fixture connections.
This compression nut is designed for use with aluminum, copper, or plastic tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Common applications include under-sink supply connections, ice maker lines, toilet fill valves, and other fixture supply installations where a chrome-plated appearance is required or preferred for exposed locations. The lead-free brass construction meets requirements for potable water contact under current plumbing codes.
Designed for use with aluminum, copper, or plastic tubing in 3/8-inch compression fitting assemblies. Suitable as a replacement or add-on nut for standard compression fittings in potable water and plumbing applications.
Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before removing or installing compression fittings. Hand-tighten the nut onto the fitting body first, then snug with an open-end or adjustable wrench - avoid over-tightening, which can crack ferrules or distort tubing. Plumbing work involving potable water connections should comply with applicable local codes and IPC requirements for lead-free materials. This fitting is intended for use with a compression ring (ferrule) and fitting body, which are sold separately.
