The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 70022020 is a steel hydraulic adapter designed to connect a 1-1/4-inch MJIC (male JIC 37-degree flare) fitting to a 1-inch male BSPP (British Standard Parallel Pipe) port. It carries a thread specification of 1-5/8-12 on the JIC end and 1-1/4-11 on the BSPP end. Rated to 3000 psi maximum operating pressure and 375 degrees F, this adapter is built for demanding hydraulic circuit applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians use this type of adapter when joining JIC-threaded lines to BSPP-threaded equipment ports, a common requirement on imported machinery and mobile hydraulic systems.
This adapter fits within the 7012 Series of steel BSPP adapters and is suited for hydraulic plumbing on industrial and mobile equipment where JIC lines must terminate into BSPP-ported valves, cylinders, pumps, or manifolds. The steel construction handles the pressure and temperature cycles common in these environments. It is appropriate for use in both stationary industrial hydraulic systems and mobile equipment hydraulics where mixed thread standards appear on the same circuit.
Designed as an OEM-style hydraulic adapter for systems requiring a 1-1/4-inch MJIC to 1-inch male BSPP connection, including imported machinery, mobile equipment, and industrial hydraulic circuits with BSPP-ported components.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or hydraulic technician familiar with JIC flare and BSPP parallel thread connections. Depressurize and bleed the hydraulic system completely before removing or installing any fittings. BSPP parallel threads require an O-ring or bonded seal at the port face to achieve a leak-free connection - confirm sealing method before assembly. Torque to the equipment manufacturer's specification and pressure-test the circuit before returning to service.
