The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 700085-1006 is a 90-degree reducing compression elbow designed for connecting tubing lines where a direction change and size transition are required in a single fitting. Constructed from lead-free brass, it meets modern potable water and plumbing code requirements. The fitting accepts a 5/8-inch compression connection on one end and a 3/8-inch compression connection on the other, with a 13/16-18 thread specification. It is rated for temperatures from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of residential and light commercial plumbing and refrigeration line applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting.
This elbow is used where copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing must turn 90 degrees while also transitioning between two different tube sizes. Common install scenarios include supply line connections under sinks, appliance water feeds, refrigeration lines, and similar applications where space constraints and size reduction are needed at the same junction point. Its compact dimensions of approximately 1.75 inches in length, 1.65 inches in width, and 0.9 inches in height allow installation in tight spaces typical of residential and light commercial rough-in work.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing. Suitable as a lead-free compression fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration line applications requiring a 5/8-inch to 3/8-inch reducing 90-degree connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Ensure tubing ends are cut cleanly and deburred before seating into the compression fittings to achieve a proper seal. Do not overtighten compression nuts, as this can deform the ferrule and compromise the connection.
